Drontal Antiparasitic For Puppies

Drontal plus is an internal antiparasitic, with activity against adult and larval forms of parasites. Ascarids, Hookworms and Whipworms of puppies. Its active ingredients are febantel and pyrantel pamoate, a drug with a wide safety margin. Febantel and pyrantel pamoate have a synergistic (summative) effect against roundworms, achieving a near 100% elimination.

Instructions for use:

• Check the weight of the puppy
• The liquid can be mixed with food or administered directly into the dog's mouth.

Dosage:

• Administer a single dose of 1 ml/kg of puppy weight or its equivalent of 15 mg of febantel and 14.4 mg of pyrantel.
• In case of giardiasis administer 2 consecutive days. Shake before use.

Recommendations for parasite control:

In the case of Ancylostoma canium , each adult ingests about 0.1 ml of blood, so severe infestations can be fatal, especially in puppies. The larvae of this parasite pass through the mammary gland into the milk, penetrate the healthy skin of the dog or man or are ingested through the contaminated environment. Toxocara canis infects by crossing the mammary gland, by crossing the transplacental barrier or by ingestion of eggs from the environment.

The larvae of these last two parasites can remain inactive in the muscles of the bitch, causing infestations for several consecutive births. Along with deworming, a rigorous cleaning of the environment with chlorine-based products must be carried out, which are effective against the larvae and eggs of the parasites.

Contraindications:

• Do not use on puppies under two weeks old and weighing less than 0.6kg
• Simultaneous administration with piperazine is not recommended.
